GMC Terrain: Setting Cruise Control / Using Cruise Control on Hills
How well the cruise control works
on hills depends upon the vehicle
speed, load, and the steepness of
the hills. When going up steep hills,
you might have to step on the
accelerator pedal to maintain the
vehicle speed. When going
downhill, you might have to brake or
shift to a lower gear to keep your
speed down. If the brake pedal is
applied, cruise control will
disengage.
Use the accelerator pedal to
increase the vehicle speed. When
you take your foot off the pedal, the vehicle will slow down to the
previous set cruise speed...
There are four ways to end cruise

To change the position the liftgate

power open the liftgate.
Stop the liftgate movement at
the desired height by pressing
any liftgate switch. Manually
adjust the liftgate position if

Braking action involves perception

reaction time.
Average driver reaction time is
about three-quarters of a second. In
that time, a vehicle moving at
100 km/h (60 mph) travels 20m
(66 ft), which could be a lot of
distance in an emergency...
